About the Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is constituted in line with UGC guidelines for autonomous colleges. It functions as an advisory body to the Governing Body on financial planning, fee structure, budget estimation and audit of accounts.

  • Estimate the budget for grants received/receivable from UGC.
  • Estimate income from fees and other receipts collected for autonomy-related activities.
  • Audit accounts pertaining to receipts and expenditure under the autonomy scheme.
  • Recommend financial allocations to the Governing Body for academic and infrastructure proposals.
  • Minimum two meetings per academic year.
  • Reviews annual budget and statutory audit observations.
  • Co-ordinates with the Finance Officer for monthly book closure and audit trails.
  • Approves capex proposals from departments above defined thresholds.
  • Annual statutory audit by an empanelled Chartered Accountant.
  • Internal audit conducted by the Office of the Finance Officer.
  • Audited Income & Expenditure Statements submitted to the Governing Body.
