Department of English and Foreign Languages

"Vaagarthaaviva Sampruktou Vaagartha Pratipattaye..."—the timeless words from ancient Indian wisdom remind us that speech and meaning are inseparable, just as Goddess Parvati and Lord Parameswara are united in harmony. Inspired by this philosophy, the Department of English and Foreign Languages believes that language is not merely a tool of communication but a bridge to knowledge, confidence, and success.

With a team of dedicated and accomplished faculty, the department nurtures students to become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. Our mission is to help every student discover the power of words and develop the fluency, clarity, and confidence needed for both professional excellence and personal growth.

Established with a vision to impart high-quality education in English and foreign languages, the department has earned a reputation for academic excellence and professional training. Beyond classroom instruction, we offer comprehensive programmes in personality development, communication skills, career readiness, and placement training. Specialized coaching for international proficiency examinations such as GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo English Test further prepares students to pursue higher education and global career opportunities.

By blending rich pedagogical practices with innovative learning experiences, the department continues to inspire students to communicate with confidence, think with clarity, and lead with purpose.

Authorized TOEFL & GRE Test Center

The institution has successfully formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Educational Testing Service (ETS), the globally recognized body that administers the GRE and TOEFL examinations. Following the MoU, the college has established a fully functional, authorized test centre on campus in compliance with ETS guidelines.

The facility is equipped with secure, standardized infrastructure including dedicated testing labs, high-speed internet connectivity, surveillance systems, and uninterrupted power supply to ensure a seamless and secure testing environment.

Trained personnel have been appointed and certified as per ETS requirements to manage test administration, uphold examination integrity, and ensure adherence to international testing protocols. The centre has already commenced operations and is capable of conducting GRE and TOEFL examinations for both institutional students and external candidates.

The establishment of this centre significantly enhances the institution’s academic ecosystem by providing students with direct access to globally recognized assessments, supporting higher education aspirations abroad, and strengthening the institution’s international engagement and reputation. Moreover, the institution has also inked an MoU with Northeastern Universities for better opportunities for students.
